Founder and principal consultant Kawania H. Wooten CMP, brings a unique mix of experience and skills to her event planning firm. Kawania’s 18 years of planning high-end meetings, galas, and events for Washington DC's elite lobbyists and fundraisers blend naturally with her years as the 'official' party planner for friends, colleagues and family members.

Kawania's expertise, keen attention to the smallest details, and strong commitment to customer service are the hallmarks of her business. As the founder of the company, Kawania strives for professionalism, creativity, passion, and impeccable organization within every function planned by Howerton+Wooten Events.

Kawania is an award-winning meeting and event planner, and she earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation from the Convention Industry Council in 2004. She is a frequent speaker on issues faced by meeting and event planning professionals. In addition, she has spoken to and provided competitive strategy counsel to a variety of industry and business groups.

Her professional affiliations include Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and the International Special Events Society (ISES).

Kawania holds a Bachelors degree in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University in Hampton VA, and she attended the Harvard Business School Executive Management Program in June of 2005 under the auspices of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing.
