Owner and principal consultant Kawania Wooten CMP, brings a unique mix of experience and skills to her event planning firm. Kawania's 17 years of planning high-end events for Washington DC and Manhattan non-profit organizations and foundations blend naturally with her experience as a skilled creator of wedding cakes and the ‘official’ party planner for friends and colleagues.

Known to many as Kay, she uses her attention-grabbing sense of style, keen attention to the smallest details and strong commitment to customer service as the hallmark of her business. As the founder of the company, Kawania strives for professionalism, creativity and impeccable organization within every function planned by Howerton+Wooten Events.

Kawania has been featured in The Knot Magazine, Essence Magazine, the “Smart Planner” blog, and she is a featured wedding blogger for Premier Bride Magazine. She holds a Bachelors degree in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University in Hampton VA, and she participated in the Harvard Business School's Executive Management Program in June of 2005.
