I try to get in a few books each quarter, but February and March were so “whack” that I fell painfully behind! So, I made a new list of books I want to read in April, May and June in 2016 and I wanted to share with you in case you wanted to get on board. All of my reaching choices are not business-related — A girl’s got to get some personal development in too!
So, here are my 7 books for the next three months — If you are interested in checking them out, you can click on the title link (above each book picture) to purchase them from Amazon.
Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger
I’m almost finished reading this book (and, I heard the author speak earlier this year). It’s worth the read for entrepreneurs.
The Power of I Am: Two Words That Will Change Your Life Today by Joel Osteen
I heard Joel Osteen speaking to Oprah about the power of words, “I am . . . .” and it really resonated with me.
Talk Like TED: The 9 Public-Speaking Secrets of the World’s Top Minds by Carmine Gallo
I teach in the hospitality department at Prince Georges Community College, and I recently noticed that Ted Talks are successful in holding my students’ attention. So, I am looking into my own teaching style. Has anyone read this book? Let me know what you think.
Night at the Fiestas: Stories by Kirstin Valdez Quade
Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes
This book was actually a gift from my planner friend Sharia at Eclectic Fete. I am really looking forward to it!
Go Set a Watchman: A Novel by Harper Lee
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain
This book is actually a re-read for me, but I definitely believe it is worth it!
Take care! Love & Soul Always, Kay
