I read an article in the New York Times this morning, and I just had to share it with you!
The article describes the growing trend of brides wanting their bridal party to look great, so they are paying for their bridal party’s beauty procedures.
According to the article, “It is no longer sufficient to hire a hairstylist and makeup artist to be on hand the day of. Instead, bridal parties are indulging in dermal fillers and tooth-whitening months before the Big Day.”
Beauty procedures mentioned in the article include Botox Treatments, Dermafillers, Fraxel Laser Treatments, Chemical Peels, Teeth Whitening and Breast Enhancements.
One salon owner is quoted as saying, “Time was when the bride arranged for everyone to get manicures at the same time, followed by lunch. But today? It’s much more likely that she is footing the bill for eyelash extensions, airbrush tanning and a bevy of other cosmetic procedures.”
Check out the full article here. What do you think? Should brides encourage their bridesmaids to enhance their looks for their wedding? Is this more important for brides over 35? Does it really matter?
