As I mentioned last week, the news in New Jersey has been pretty devastating.  Since Tuesday, I have heard reports and stories about lives, homes and jobs severely affected by Hurricane Sandy.

If it is devastating to us watching it on TV, can you imagine how bad it is for the people going through it?

If you are able, please donate to one of the following charities.  Anything you can do will really make a difference.

Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund

The American Red Cross says that your financial donation can make the biggest and most immediate impact for those in need.

Find a Location to Donate Blood.  There is an immediate need for blood and platelet donations.  It really does saves lives — Blood transfusions have saved my life (twice).

Host a Blood Drive.  If you are like me, you might be a little too anemic to donate, consider hosting a blood drive in your neighborhood or at your workplace.

Animals were pretty vulnerable in this hurricane too.  The New Jersey SPCA is trying to help as much as they can.  They can use your help.

Catholic Charities says that their agencies provide critical disaster services to people of all beliefs. (You don’t have to be catholic.) Their agencies are fully prepared to assist families and individuals with shelter, food, and other immediate and long-term needs.

If you were in Hurricane Sandy’s path and you need help, you can one of the charities above or contact FEMA for assistance.

Please keep everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy in your thoughts, prayers and donations.  God bless.

Love & Soul Always, Kay
