12 slices of brioche or challah bread
12 ounces of Gruyère cheese, thinly sliced
1 cup of jam (I prefer strawberry!)
3 tablespoons of unsalted butter

Start with two slices of bread. (I used challah)

Spread the two slices of bread with butter on one side.

Place one piece of bread, butter side down, in the skillet over medium heat.

Top the bread with two slices of cheese.

Spread the unbuttered side of the other piece of bread with the jam.

Place the bread, strawberry jam side down, on top of the cheese.

Cook the sandwich, over medium heat, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted — This should be 2 to 3 minutes per side.

Cut the sandwich into quarters before serving.

Serve warm.

Repeat the process above with the next five (5) sandwiches, and continue to serve them warm.  Yum!
