Washington, DC (August 5, 2015) — The Howerton+Wooten Events team successfully managed logistical details and housing for the US2020 STEM Symposium held at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building of the White House complex.

Howerton+Wooten Events, LLC is a small event management boutique renowned for creating ultra-creative, “high touch” weddings, galas, and events. The company is based in Bowie, Maryland, but its award-winning team is experienced at designing and managing conferences and events throughout the U.S. The company was founded in 2007 by Kawania Wooten, CMP, an industry veteran in the meeting and event planning industry.

US2020 is a new organization developed from a White House call to generate large-scale, innovative solutions to our science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education challenges. Announced by President Obama at the 2013 White House Science Fair, US2020’s mission is to dramatically scale the number of STEM professionals mentoring and teaching students through hands-on projects with a focus on serving underrepresented communities — girls, underrepresented minorities, and low-income children.
