This year we have the privilege of working with Mama Cocoa’s Delights to create packaged truffles for an upcoming wedding favor.
Now, I am embarrassed to admit that I never heard of Mama Cocoa’s before our bride’s mom brought this candy shop to my attention. But, I did my research and found out that Mama Cocoa’s Delights is a Bowie, Maryland favorite! And, to top it all off, they were a $10,000 winner on the Food Networks’ reality pastry contest, “Sweet Genius!” Wow!
So, I checked them out, and I am here to tell you that I am in love!
I bought some candy and cookies to share with my family, friends, and clients, but they never saw it! Why? Because I (along with Chris Wooten) ate all of it ourselves. We did manage to share the organic lollipops with our friends’ children.
Their caramel chews, “Buttery Goodness,” literally melt in your mouth. During my second visit, I tried the “Coco Chew.” (below) They are equally yummy, but the “Buttery Goodness” chews have my heart.
August is the perfect month for figs, so I tried the Fig Kellys (dark chocolate, caramel, figs, and sea salt) and I thought to myself, “That’s it. This is the only fig candy I will ever eat again.”
So, here is the good part, you don’t have to come to Bowie, Maryland to check out Mama Cocoa’s Delights. You can purchase their candies on the Mama Cocoa’s web site. But, if you do come to their shop in Bowie, I can assure you that you will be greeted by the sweetest ladies! In fact, I had the honor of meeting the owner of Mama Cocoa’s Delights Tamarra Thomas during my second visit, and she is as kind and sweet as her candy.
I will most definitely share a picture of the truffles after our August 31st wedding!
But, I encourage you to give them a try when that sweet tooth hits you! You won’t be disappointed.
Love & Soul Always, Kay
